Business As Usual? I Think Not.

The essence of life is change. With change comes growth. At every turn of a new year we find ourselves reflecting on the year just passed. We set goals and find ways in which to make the new one better, popularly known as resolutions. Though we may not always stick to them it is a healthy way to move forward. It serves as a platform for growth and self improvement.

As life moves forward we must continue to grow ourselves. We cannot stand in the same place conducting business as usual. We have to move on up. This goes for every situation in life. If it's a job, do better and aim to be promoted. If it's a weight-loss regimen, put some more effort into it or find another way if the current way isn't very rewarding. If it's school, keep moving forward and upward, ex: BS to MS to PhD/MD/JD/DDS, etc.
It's like Benjamin Franklin once said, without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement and success have no meaning. Let's aim to put meaning to these words. Let's break out of the habit of business as usual. It's a new year, let's gain some new perspective.

Don't wait for everything to be just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful. ~Mark V. Hansen

Totally agree. This should be a natural process but sadly for some it isn't.

"Lets gain some new perspective" This was a thought provoking piece to start the New Year with. I will continue to challenge myself with everything that I intend to do and gain new ground with the knowledge that I will acquire from this.

You got that right, business as usual stymies growth.
