The Optimistic Aproach

Posted by Patrice Smith

Between the Optimist and the Pessimist the the difference is droll; the optimist sees the doughnut, the pessimist sees the hole. ~Oscar Wilde
How easy it is for us to become depressed if something that we desire does not manifest itself in the manner that we anticipate? After diligently preparing for an examination and failing, we sometimes begin to question our abilities. After giving the best possible answers at an interview and still not receiving the call that you're the chosen one, may instill a sense of helplessness and insecurity which may lead you to think that you're not as good as the chosen one. Nothing can be further from the truth. While defeatism in particular circumstances is unavoidable, it should not be an acceptable acquired trait. Instead, one needs to fight back with optimism. Recalibrate and re-execute! Maybe you assiduously studied, but you were unable to apply the concepts appropriately, or, you may not have been a good fit for the job in which you applied; however, the next time you're faced with a drawback, don't harp on it and allow it to become a trait, instead, fight back with optimism. Don't forget, every set back is a set up for a come back.

this is so true because it's talking about me and what my spirit wants to do, but my body is not complying with it.

This quote teaches us to believe in ourselves and never give up on anything we set our mind to if we really want it, we can obtain it.

Defeat is the a negative tool that we should not focus on...We need too focus on the positive and reinforce ourself too continue and keep the fight going..

LOVE...LOVE...LOVE!!!! Life is tough, but we do not realize that our attitude will reflect our outcome.

I most definitely agree with this statement. As a second year college year I have studied hard so many times and still have had exams did not reflect my hardwork, however I do believe that if I keep trying it all would work for me.

For the longest I have been avoiding science classes because I WAS AFRAID. initially on my first two attempts I failed both chemistry and biology, this semester I am taking both again simultaneously 3 years later, I looked back on my mistakes with no regret I know where I went wrong. I never applied myself. I did not want to study nor want to spend long hours feeling as if I would never use this information in the real world. Now I am taking my anatomy and chemistry. my first exam was a 50 I was so disappointed but I looked back on the situation and worked long hours to improve on the mistakes I made with my studying habits. The next exam I got the highest on the test. Every exam thereafter was no less than a 90. My professor told me with these science classes the only way you will learn is if you apply yourself and practice, practice, practice.....since then I have not stopped and will not stop I want this and I feel this, and I definitely see it in my near future (becoming a nurse and getting my bachelor's degree) =-).
