The Challenge

Do you remember the moment when you opened up that envelope and got good news about a dream job that you craved, a promotion, or acceptance into a school of choice? What was that feeling like? Was it one of great excitement? Now, think of the work that it took to get you to that point. In some instances you may have toiled assiduously up to the point when you opened that envelope and got the good news. Well, my friends, getting the good news about a job, a promotion, or getting into a school of choice is only the beginning.

As you begin your new job, new position, or new school, the real challenge becomes keeping your dream job, position, or staying in school. This may sound easy, but, you must continue to remind yourself of why you are where you are at that point in your life. In addition, you have to ask yourself what it will take for you to get promoted or complete your course of study in school. Quite often, as human beings we expect perfection. We expect everything to fall in place the way in which we want it. However, in the real world things may not necessarily pan out the way in which we want it to be, when we want it to be. At times we may feel as though the world rest on our shoulders, but, rest assured, if we are to remain committed to what we started, (ie) the dream job or attending the school of choice, eventually success in our chosen fields will become a reality.

The message here is to think global because there is always a light at the end of the tunnel if we are to remain steadfast in the choices that we've made. Go for it! It yours for the taking; and always remember that despite the challenges and adversities as you climb that ladder, there is nothing sweeter than success.

Accept the challenges so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory ~ General George S. Patton

Well said! If only we recognize how important that is to us.
