The essene of Patience

Posted by Patrice Smith

Have I not been doing all that I need to do? Why is it taking so long then?

This is a question we ask ourselves when things aren't quite happening as quickly as we anticipated. That's understandable.  In a world of  cell phones, Internet, email, microwave, everything-on-demand, or, in other words instant gratification, it is no wonder why when it comes to our goals and aspirations we want to see results immediately. Unfortunately our goals and aspiration require a little more work to have them come to fruition, and results rarely, if ever, occur over night. For this reason it is important to have self control, forbearance and patience. These qualities only serve to strengthen who we are and make us appreciate our efforts and achievements, especially when it manifests itself into our hearts desires. So, the next time we anxiously await an important decision in our life, remember that you've already done your part, so having patience is of paramount importance. Or, in the words of Arnold H. Glasgow, the key to everything is patience; you get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.

Very timely, for my life particularly. Appreciate it and I luv the last line...."You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it." Mind if i steal it?

This is so true in so many areas of life. Employment, relationships, weight loss, etc.

    And I love his quote.

This is wonderful are you in my head? lol. Thanks for the comments and the support. I whole heartley (Did I spell that right?) believe in everything I'm doing right now, and I know their going to happen. Its just kinda hard when you don't have alot of support and guidance (other than God) So I felt I would put my hopes and dreams out there. Thanks for reading.

Am I in your head? aahhh no :) but great minds do think alike *wink. Of course everything you are doing will happen! why? because you believe, you have faith. It can be very hard without a strong support group/system but the goal is to remain steadfast and keep believing. And remember NOTHING HAPPENS BEFORE IT'S TIME.

You have my support anytime, and thanks for reading also.

    Good luck!

    Couldn't agree more!

Not enough believe in the "patience principle" (as I call it w/ my students).

We all (especially our kids) want it now now now. No such thing, though.

    NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS!
